Embedded Systems are increasingly being used for solving problems in varied areas from Medical to Defense, from Commercial to Automotive. If we look back in time since Shannon's seminal work on digital communication, Turing's work on cryptography, MIT's MULTICs, Cooley-Tukey's FFT, NASA use of Digital Encoding for Space communication, RSA Keying and Adaptive Digital Signal Processing the computers have not only created new areas but have entered into all types of industries. The Moore's law (which states that number of transistors double on an IC every two years) has further given greater impetus to their use in complex and complicated scenarios allowing for small sizes and low power batteries.

It won't be wrong to say that embedded systems are in today's digital World key to higher performance, better usability, faster turnaround time and lower cost with improved safety and security.  Each of these requirements differentiates the products and provides a manufacturer leverage in the the fast changing and competing world.

Embedded World 2012 lived up to its expectations with a wide variety of cutting edge embedded technology on show. The event was much larger and had a much larger participation this time than in previous years and it showed in increased time spent by audiences on booths. Embedded World had close to 872 exhibitors, 22,262 visitors spread across 5 halls and interspersed with conferences and expert sessions.

Ascenten was at Embedded World 2012 and displayed its embedded custom designs, FPGA/MCU/DSP design services, embedded software, indigenous products, newer technology achievements and unique offerings. The company received lots of attention for its innovative meditation device - Noumic which was a crowd puller. Also on display were Ascenten newer ultra low power designs capable of extending battery life to 20 years, 32 layer PCB designs, Power over Ethernet Technology, VDSL based high speed communication, galvanic isolation, Foundation Fieldbus, time of flight measurements and polarity independence. Ascenten engineers at the booth took time illustrating to the audience the projects and concept of agile and fast turnaround development of functional software, networking, protocols and utilization of RTOS for embedded applications.
